Wallingford, CT, USA -- Ultra Electronics, DNE Technologies completed successful demonstrations of its PacketAssure iQ (PA iQ) Service Delivery Manager at a recent U.S. Department of Defense major exercise. During the Coalition Warrior Interoperability Demonstration (CWID), the PacketAssure iQ provided a highly efficient solution to the problem of application prioritization during periods of network congestion. The PA iQ implemented comprehensive and granular Quality of Service (QoS) policies that were easily modified as situations changed at Hanscom Air Force Base and a Marine Expeditionary Unit’s headquarters located at U.S Joint Forces Command. Throughout the exercise, Real Time Services such as video and voice were guaranteed adequate bandwidth when needed while all applications benefited from sharing bandwidth when available.
“It was impressive to observe minimally trained users provide a granular and efficient use of available bandwidth, change priorities and ensure application performance as their mission evolved,” noted William Berger, Director of Sales for DNE Technologies.
The PA iQ provides an easy-to-use interface that allows network architects to build a structure of profiles and templates This allows lesser trained operators to select and activate a variety of QoS policies in as few as two clicks on the Graphical User Interface. It also allows for near-instant modifications to these priorities to be made based on mission changes.
